During the summer holidays I spent about half the time at my bach down in Matarangi. Matarangi is a small town which is mainly a holiday place, in the Coromandel peninsula. There is a beach there, a village green, a golf course, pretty much all the things one would expect while on holiday.
While my family and I were there for Christmas the place was completely overrun with 18-22 year olds on holiday, drinking and partying. During Christmas the weather decided to literally rain on everybody's parade. Luckily for us, though, we came back after Christmas when the weather got extremely hot and sunny. I went for about two swims each day, surfed and played basketball or watched movies. My dad, brother and I came back to Auckland for a couple of days to see a Breakers game which Jared's basketball coach had paid for. I was invited because I kind of had to save their team from being overpowered and destroyed by 15 year olds who were twice their size. It was a great game (because the Breakers wiped the floor with the 36ers) and we had a dunk contest (sort of) on a mini hoop.
Once our holiday at the beach was over, we had to make do with a pool. I got Matt and Connor over and they stayed the night, but Matt kept moaning that his ear was sore because he had water in it. We played Red Dead Redemption and killed virtual zombies until about 2 A.M. The next day we went to the movies and saw "The Darkest Hour" with Connors' cousin. It wasn't that great of a movie, but it was alright. Once I got home i didn't really do much for the rest of the holidays, except playing basketball, PS3 and using my computer.
